Mum’s ‘easy’ pasta bake is the perfect ‘low stress’ dinner with a unique twist

There are so many ways to make pasta bake thanks to its versatility, so it can be hard to find the perfect recipe.

But one mum has found the ultimate method for this staple family dish that’s equal parts affordable, quick, and enjoyable.

Sharing her recipe on TikTok, Chey Singh (@cheysingh) branded it an “easy dinner” for when she doesn’t feel like cooking but still has a family to feed.

She said: “All I had to do for this was boil some pasta and heat up a jar of sauce.”

Despite being an incredibly simple formula, however, the busy mum revealed a unique cooking tip that gives the dish an extra layer of flavour.

Method

Chey’s recipe is very simple, but it does require a suitably sized oven-proof dish to contain the full 500g worth of pasta.

Her unique method started with one layer of sauce on the bottom of the container to ensure every piece of pasta gets coated in the tomato liquid.

After this, Chey added half of the cooked pasta on top and then followed it with some more of the heated pasta sauce.

She then topped the sauce layer with a few handfuls of grated mozzarella, a generous helping of parmesan, and a sprinkling of mixed Italian dried herbs.

Chilli flakes or other dried herbs can be added at this point as well as some chopped, cooked vegetables if desired.

The TikTok video creator suggested repeating the layers with one more helping of pasta, a coating of sauce, a layer of cheese, and some more Italian seasoning.

She then baked it in the oven at 350F (175C) for 30 minutes until the cheese was “nice and melted”.

Chey said: “And that’s it. I find this to be a pretty low-stress, easy dinner and it’s one that my family loves… I mean – it’s pasta!”
