Tesco frozen vegetables branded ‘unsafe to eat’ in latest food recall
The supermarket giant is one of the latest retailers to issue an urgent food recall to customers.
Along with Morrisons, which recently recalled three popular sweet products, Tesco has warned customers to return the compromised vegetable items.
According to the Food Standards Agency (FSA), Tesco is recalling Growers Harvest Garden Peas because of “possible contamination with an unknown type of berry”.
There are fears that this may make the product unsafe to eat and is thought to affect several batches sold on supermarket shelves.
While the notice was issued on November 27, the recall is still active in stores.

The supermarket urged customers to return any Growers Harvest frozen peas products with the listed best-before dates and relevant batch codes to stores.
It warned: “Please do not consume this product and return it to the store where a full refund will be given. No receipt is required.”
According to the recall document, the notice will be active until December 27, 2023.
Tesco apologised to its customers for any inconvenience caused and urged people to contact customer services directly via telephone for further information.
In addition to garden peas, the supermarket also has an active recall for a Mars Wrigley UK product, Revels.
Revels Milk Chocolate Sharing Pouch Bag 205g, and Revels Milk Chocolate Pouch Bag 112g, were both recalled on December 1, 2023.
The decision to withdraw the chocolatey treats from shelves was down to the potential presence of very small pieces of rubber.
