Aldi imposes strict two bottle limit ahead of Christmas
The budget retailer is popular among savvy shoppers all year round, and even more so during the festive period.
But customers may struggle to bulk buy certain products this year after Aldi announced a strict purchasing limit on selected wines.
According to the retailer, Britons will be subject to a two-bottle limit when buying one of its most raved-about alcohol products.
It comes following the news of a massive discount which will be applied to the supermarket’s Specially Selected Cairanne, which costs £8.99 at full price.
The two-bottle purchasing limit will be imposed from Monday, December 11 until Sunday, December 17 during which time the wine will be on sale for just £3.49.

The supermarket is expecting unprecedented demand after the 61 percent price drop branded “Aldi’s Christmas present to the nation” by Jane MacQuitty, wine critic at The Times.
Regarded as an award-winning wine, the Specially Selected Cairanne is made from a flavoursome blend of four different grapes.
It comprises Grenache (60 percent), Syrah (25 percent), Mourvèdre (10 percent), and Carignan (five percent).

It’s been a hit with wine experts too, with many having taken to social media to share the deal. One described the offer as “incredible” while another urged Britons to “set your clocks to go!!”.
Even before the news of the discount, the Cairanne was popular among wine aficionados who had recommended the tipple on Instagram.
Back in 2017, Cathal McBride (@GlassOfRedWine), wrote: “It has been a while since I’ve recommended a wine but this Cairanne from Aldi Ireland is excellent value… A Côtes du Rhône Villages, this is a full-bodied wine but has a subtlety and elegance that beguiles its high volume… I’m very impressed with this for the price.”
But with so many people keen to try it for a bargain price of £3.49, not all customers will be happy about the two-bottle limit.
Julie Ashfield, managing director of buying at Aldi UK, claimed: “These reductions are part of our efforts to make great quality wines affordable to all this Christmas.
“We’ve introduced a bottle limit to ensure as many of our shoppers as possible can buy and enjoy the Specially Selected Cairanne at such an incredible price.”
That said, there are other offers to be had in store, with 65 percent off classic winter wines running every week until January 31.
