She was asked to provide a family favourite recipe, and she chose her roast chicken.<\/p>\n<p>While sitting down reviewing the pages, Camilla remarked: \u201cYou saw how I put the recipe? I\u2019m afraid that\u2019s how I cook, never weigh out things.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Luckily, John Williams, Executive Chef at The Ritz, who was recreating Camilla\u2019s roast chicken for the magazine, \u201capproved\u201d.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p> <svg width=\"50px\" height=\"50px\" viewbox=\"0 0 60 60\" version=\"1.1\" xmlns=\"https:\/\/www.w3.org\/2000\/svg\" xmlns:xlink=\"https:\/\/www.w3.org\/1999\/xlink\"><g stroke=\"none\" stroke-width=\"1\" fill=\"none\" fill-rule=\"evenodd\"><g transform=\"translate(-511.000000, -20.000000)\" fill=\"#000000\"><g><\/path><\/g><\/g><\/g><\/svg>View this post on Instagram<\/p>\n<p>A post shared by Country Life Magazine (@countrylifemagazine)<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The Editor-in-Chief and Managing and Features Editor of Country Life magazine were sitting with the then-Duchess of Cornwall reviewing the pages and said the chef \u201cdidn\u2019t mind\u201d Camilla\u2019s organic recipe.<\/p>\n<p>The recipe was tweaked slightly, with the addition of tarragon and cream. Chef John explained: \u201cSo, of course, this recipe has come from the [then] Duchess of Cornwall.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe\u2019s obviously a very, very good cook, and understands flavours. And the simplicity of this dish is really wonderful.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Commenting on the recipe, and how Camilla chose quite a simple and humble dish as her favourite, the chef said: \u201cIt\u2019s not showing off in any way. It\u2019s proper, good food.\u201d<\/p>\n<p> <strong> Don&#8217;t miss&#8230; <\/strong> <br \/> <strong>Easy air fryer brownie recipe made with just four ingredients[RECIPE] <\/strong> <br \/> <strong>\u2018Best tasting bread\u2019 recipe makes \u2018amazing\u2019 loaf perfect for sandwiches[VIDEO] <\/strong> <br \/> <strong>Cook \u2018delicious fluffy rice\u2019 every time with an expert\u2019s \u2018quick and easy\u2019 method[GUIDE] <\/strong><\/p>\n<h3>Camilla\u2019s Roast Chicken\u00a0<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Ingredients: <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>One medium chicken (free range and preferably organic)<\/li>\n<li>One large lemon<\/li>\n<li>Two handfuls of tarragon<\/li>\n<li>A good glug of double cream<\/li>\n<li>A cupful of chicken stock<\/li>\n<li>Salt and pepper<\/li>\n<li>A large lump of butter<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Method: <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1. Squeeze one half of the lemon over the chicken and cut the other half into slices. Put the butter, a handful of tarragon and the lemon slices into the chicken\u2019s cavity, seal with the squeezed lemon half and season.<\/p>\n<p>2. Put the chicken in a baking tin and roast it in a hot oven for an hour or 1\u00bc hours, depending on its size.<\/p>\n<p>3. Leave the chicken aside to rest. Reduce the cooking juices, and add a cupful of chicken stock and another handful of chopped tarragon.<\/p>\n<p>4. At the last moment, stir in the double cream and season \u2014 then pour the sauce over the chicken and carve.<\/p>\n<p>The chef was asked if he had ever cooked for Camilla before, and he said: \u201cYes, I have. It tickles me.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As for whether it is \u201cnerve-wracking\u201d having to prepare food for royalty, John added: \u201cOf course it is. You want to get it right!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Sarah Troughton, a friend of Camilla and the Queen\u2019s first cousin, once removed, appeared in the documentary and commented on Camilla\u2019s cooking. She said: \u201cTom, her son, says that she\u2019s a good cook.
