Sopaipillas
Ingredients
- 4 cups flour
- 1 1/4 tsp. Salt
- 3 tsp. Baking powder
- 3 Tbsp. Sugar
- 2 Tbsp. Shortening
- 1 1/4 cup milk
Steps
Mix flour salt baking powder and sugar.Rub in shortening with fingertips and add milk to make a soft dough just firm enough to roll. Allow dough to rest for 30-60 minutes; roll out 1/4 inch thick on light floured board and cut into Diamond shaped pieces fry in deep fat 390 to -400 turn at once so they will puff evenly then turn back to brown light on both sides.Drain onto paper towels. Serve with butter and honey 4 makes dozen or more.
