Lasagna with an Alfredo twist

They say that most original recipes happen by accident, well…I didn’t have enough marinara (and my nearest store is 25 mins away) so I had my homemade Alfredo available as usual, and…..

Ingredients

  1. 2 Italian sausage links (removed from casing)
  2. 4-5 No-Boil lasagna noodles
  3. 12 Oz your favorite marinara pasta sauce
  4. 8 Oz your favorite Alfredo sauce
  5. 1 egg
  6. 15 Oz Ricotta Cheese
  7. 6 Oz shredded mozzarella
  8. 4 Oz shredded Parmesan
  9. 1 tbs Italian or Greek seasoning
  10. 1 tsp garlic powder
  11. 1 tsp crushed red pepper (optional)

Steps

  1. Preheat oven to 375°.

  2. Brown sausage in medium skillet while you mix the egg, ricotta, mozzarella, and Parmesan cheeses in a separate bowl.

  3. In a small loaf baking dish, spray cooking spray on all sides. Layer bottom with marinara sauce.

  4. Start with one pasta layer, then add a layer of the cheese mixture, sausage, equal amounts of sauce, and separated amounts of spices. (if you love cheese, you can add a little on each layer as you go)

  5. Repeat at least three times and save enough cheese mixture and meat to add on top before baking.

  6. Bake at 375° for 40 minutes covered. Remove cover and bake an additional 10 minutes or until the cheese is slightly browned.
