Empanada Filling

Had to have this to go with the dough!


  1. About 2 cups of pork carne asada, cut up into pieces. Homemade marinade is here: https://cookpad.com/us/recipes/7637334-carne-asada-marinade
  2. 1/2 onion
  3. 1 habanero
  4. handful hominy
  5. about a cup of salsa
  6. 1 lime
  7. several garlics
  8. handful cilantro
  9. oil for sauteing
  10. some chopped cabbage


  1. Saute the chopped onion and garlic. Add the cabbage and pork and then the cilantro

  2. Add in the salsa and simmer for about 20 minutes or so. You want it kind of thick enough to not just run all over the place when you fill the empanada’s!
