Coconut chutney
The simple and easiest chutney that we can make for idly/dosa/pongal when we are running out of time.
Ingredients
- 1 cup Coconut bits –
- Roasted gram dal – 1/2 cup
- 3 pods Garlic –
- Tamarind – 1 gooseberry size
- 2 tsp Salt –
- Water – 2 tbsp (as required)
- 2 tsp Oil –
- 1 tsp Mustard seeds –
- 1 tsp Urad dal –
- Curry leaves – 1 string
Steps
In a mixer jar put the fresh coconut bits, roasted gram dal, garlic, tamarind salt and water. Grind them well.
In a tempering pan add oil, when hot add mustard seeds, urad dal, curry leaves and when it splutters add it the grinded coconut mixture.
Mix well and serve with idly, dosa, pongal, vada etc…
