Boneless Chicken Karahi

My husband cooks without an estimate of the ingredients. He knows it by ?. I wrote down as he cooks so I have a recipe I can follow. Love his karahis!!


  1. 5 lb boneless chicken
  2. 10 Roma tomatoes
  3. 4 tablespoons ginger and garlic paste
  4. 1 and a half teaspoon of black pepper
  5. 1 and 1/2 teaspoon of red chili powder
  6. 3-5 teaspoons dried fenugreek
  7. 1 teaspoon Salt
  8. Coarse salt 2 teaspoon to fry in oil
  9. 4-6 green chilies
  10. 1 teaspoon turmeric
  11. 1 and 1/2 teaspoon of garam masala
  12. 6-7 tbsp Desi ghee
  13. 1/2 piece Ginger julienne cut


  1. Fry coarse salt in ghee. Add two and a half tablespoons of ginger and garlic paste and then add chicken

  2. Partly fry then take out

  3. Add ghee, tomatoes, and half glass of water then bring them to a boil

  4. Take the skin off of tomatoes and then add all the other ingredients except ginger that’s julienne cut

  5. Cook for 5 to 10 minutes

  6. Add chicken and adjust taste if necessary

  7. Garnish julienne cut ginger add kasuri methi and green chillies.
