Alkaline Shiro Wot served with Injera


  1. Ginger
  2. 3 tomatoes
  3. 1 onion
  4. 2 cups water
  5. Grapeseed oil
  6. Cooked Injera (without the yeast)
  7. 1 teaspoon Thyme


  1. Heat the grapeseed oil in a pan and fry gimger and onions till browned

    Add 1/2 cups of blended tomatoes cook for 3 mins add 1 teaspoon of thyme and water and bring to a boil. Add the Garbanzo flour in small batches while you keep stiring continuously. Make sure there are no lumps. you can always use a blender if you want to.

    Mix in Cayenne Pepper and Himalayan salt.
    Cook the shiro on low heat for 5 minutes. Stir frequently

    serve immediately with Amaranth(callaloo) and Injera
