5 Easy Instant Pot Meals with 5 Ingredients or Fewer
Dinners that require minimal hands-on cooking and almost no cleanup? Sign us up. These five Instant Pot dinners call for just five basic ingredients each, and only require cleaning the pot’s insert. Sure, we love electric pressure cookers for their ability to cook staples like beans and broth, but, as you’ll see here, they’re also great for quick weeknight meals.
A quick note on ingredient count: We don’t count oil, salt, or pepper as part of the five ingredients.
1. Easiest-Ever Instant Pot Pulled Pork
Once you make pulled pork in the Instant Pot, you may never make it any other way again. This recipe is basically just pork shoulder (or butt) and your favorite BBQ sauce in the pot. Serve on buns with coleslaw from the grocery store and dinner is done.
2. Slow Cooker Salsa Pulled Chicken
This recipe is written for a slow cooker — which you can absolutely use the slow-cooking function of your Instant Pot for — but you can also throw the chicken breast and salsa into your Instant Pot and cook it under pressure for eight minutes, a la our basic Instant Pot Chicken.
3. Instant Pot Mac and Cheese
This creamy, dreamy mac and cheese has just four ingredients and cooks in under 15 minutes. Keep the noodles on hand in the pantry, and you can make it anytime you need a quick mac and cheese fix.
4. Instant Pot Chicken Adobo
If you, like us, assumed adobo chicken required tons of special ingredients to be delicious, you’d be surprised to learn that this recipe has just five ingredients — six if you want to cook some basic rice in the Instant Pot first.
5. Pressure-Cooker Kalua Pig
This is the one recipe we think everyone should memorize for their Instant Pot because it has just a few ingredients, and the leftovers can be transformed into all kinds of other dinners.
