Weight loss: Woman shed astounding seven stone in 18 months – what diet plan did she use?

Looking to others who have been through a weight loss transformation can be a good way to get inspiration. One woman shared the diet plan she followed to slim down by an impressive seven stone.

Leanne Lindsay, from Surrey, decided to make a change to her lifestyle after her weight soared to 19 stone.

The dieter had managed to stay a slim size 10 growing up, but the weight piled on after the birth of her daughter, Summa, 13.

Leanne said: “During my pregnancy with my daughter I put on about five stone, and then my weight carried on creeping up from there.

“But as Summa got older, I gradually realised that I didn’t want to be the ‘fat mum’ in the playground – the one all the other mums would look down at and talk about.”

Before losing weight, Leanne would gorge on takeaways, sandwiches, crisps and pasta dishes.

She said: “I was in complete denial about the type and amount of food I was eating, and it was all a recipe for disaster.

“I’d outright lie to friends and family, making out that I hadn’t eaten for ages.

“Part of this was probably down to the embarrassment of what I was eating, and partly because it would mean I could have another serving.”

After deciding to get into shape, Leanne switched up her diet and started ordering healthy high protein meals from online food retailer, musclefood.com.

She swapped high carb meals and oversized portions for foods high in protein with healthy fats.

“I also had to learn to understand food properly,” the dieter explained.

“Greasy takeaways and super-sized portions of carb-laden meals were quickly replaced with high protein chicken, fish and healthy fats like coconut oil and avocado.”

“Within a matter of weeks, the weight was literally dropping off me.

“Being able to go out and buy a new wardrobe – for the right reasons this time – gave me the boost I needed to carry on.”

As well as following a healthy diet plan to transform her body, Leanne started to exercise regularly.

With the encouragement of a personal trainer friend, she joined a fitness class to speed up weight loss results.

The slimmer added: “One of the other mums at Summa’s school was a qualified personal trainer.

“She urged me to start exercising and was kind enough to show me the ropes, so I joined a local fitness class and haven’t looked back since.”

By making the changes, Leanne noticed the weight fall off and dropped seven stone in just 18 months.

Leanne said: “I’m so much healthier and happier in myself now, which makes me feel great knowing that I’m setting an example for my daughter.”
