Kitty Vacha is a baker who once starred on American reality TV show Sugar Rush, but hasn’t let the sweet treats ruin her fitness journey.
The 53-year-old managed to drop a whopping 158lbs – going from 329lbs to 171lbs.
She explained while there is no magic answer for losing weight, there are some simple things she stuck to in order to achieve results.
Kitty says the two rules she sticks by are “no refined sugar” and “no fried foods”.

Instead, she opts for whole foods instead, as well as playing close attention to her daily calorie intake.
She explains: “When you are considering something to eat, are you looking at it as fuel, entertainment, soothing or comfort?
“Food is a fuel source to run our bodies and nothing more…When considering what to eat, actually stop and look at it. Is it a whole food? Did it grow in nature?
“Or, did it come from a factory… on an assembly line, with lots of chemicals and additives to keep it fresh in a can… or jar… or box? Did this food even exist before mass manufacturing? No? Think twice.”
The slimmer adds: “I lost my first 70 lb following the first two rules, counting calories and walking… it got boring and my body got used to it.
“I’ve recently intermittently done Keto, did I see this as a long-term diet? No. But, it worked for me where I was, with my body type and gaining more muscle. I’m now back to phase one again.”
However, a fitness app also helped her along the way when tracking exactly how much she should be eating.

“After trying, what seems like, every diet on the planet (yes! I even ate that stupid cabbage soup), it came down to accountability and counting calories. MyFitnessPal has been a huge tool (and free!) in implementing this strategy,” she explains.
“It’s all about counting your calories, and then making those calories count.”
While the weight loss enthusiast has had results using these diet tips, she warns others not to take her words “biblically”.
Instead, she advises others to consider what works best for their bodies, emphasising how different things work for different people.

She writes: “You… will… slip…. I know it sounds cliche but this is a marathon, not a Sprint.
“You didn’t put excess weight on in 3 weeks, it’s not coming off in 3 weeks. You’re going to have bad days. you’re going to have bad weeks, you’re going to have bad seasons.
“No, this is not [a] justification or excuse to eat poorly, just be kind to yourself when it does happen, because that is life.
“Pick yourself up, put on your big girl/big boy panties, dust off and start again. Remember, no one’s going to do it for you.”
The slimmer adds: “There is no magic wand, there are no magic pills, no one program that’s going to work for everyone, and most importantly, no one is going to come in and do this for you.
“It’s hard work, but if I can do it, you can do it!”
Another slimmer also revealed his top tips, which included exactly what foods to avoid.
The man transformed his life and lost over 14 stone by cutting out alcohol initially and incorporating more exercise into his daily lifestyle.
He then went on to remove a few more items from his diet to achieve optimum results.
He revealed: “For diet, I started by cutting out sugar. Read labels, it’s in everything!
“Eventually I cut out carbs. No more bread, pasta and eventually rice and fruit.”
