Weight loss: How to burn belly fat fast – the drinks to ditch in order to lose weight
Belly fat is something many people struggle with, and it can leave some keen to try get rid of it. When it comes to weight loss in general, moving more and eating a healthy, balanced diet can often be the answer. For some, sticking to a diet plan can help them to stay on track. But what about targeting fat at your waist – is it even possible?
According to a number of personal trainers, spot training isn’t a possibility.
Instead, it comes down to what you eat – so it could be worth taking a closer look at your diet.
There are a whole host of things you may wish to consider if you want to lose belly fat fast.
This includes reducing the amount of alcohol that you consume.
While it may have health benefits in small amounts, research suggests that drinking too much alcohol may see you gain belly fat.
As reported by Healthline, in a study of more than 2,000 people, participants who drank alcohol regularly but with an average of less than one drink per day had less belly fat than those who didn’t drink so often, but consumed more of the beverage than others did on the days that they drank it.
Other drinks you may want to monitor are sugar-sweetened beverages.
This includes soda and sweet tea, as well as alcoholic cocktails which are packed full with sugar.
While fruit juice may seem like a healthy option, containing one of your Five A Day, it’s actually full of sugar.
A 240ml glass of unsweetened apple juice, for example, has 24 grams of sugar.
To put that into perspective, the NHS advises your sugar intake per day should be limited to around 30g per day for those aged 11 or older.

As well as cutting down on these popular drinks, reassessing your meals may be worthwhile.
Tucking into foods which are good sources of protein comes recommended.
But, rugby player and personal trainer Vicky Fleetwood has issued a warning about this food.
Addressing diet in an exclusive interview, she told Express.co.uk: “You want it to be high in protein, but at the same time, you don’t want it to be an excess of protein because there’s only so much that your body can actually use.
“The rest, your body will excrete.
“You can get a formula online for what will be perfect for you.”
