The popular 28-day eating plan that Queen Letizia is said to follow “improves health by lowering inflammation and reducing signs of ageing,” according to Healthline. Therefore, women following the diet not only see a change in their weight but also in their skin as the health plan is said to prevent the signs of ageing.
The diet focuses on nutrient-dense foods and adds protein to every meal and snack of the day.
There are some Perricone-friendly foods which should be consumed every day while following the diet, including fish, eggs, natural yoghurt and vegetables.
Fish, and specifically salmon, is a great source of vitamins B12 and B6, protein, essential fatty acids, minerals and calcium.
High-quality proteins are present in eggs, kefir or natural yoghurt, which are also foods that dieters following the plan should be consuming on a daily basis in addition to fish.
Vegetables, especially the ones rich in alpha lipoic acids such as spinach or broccoli, should also be present in the Perricone diet.
Queen Letizia may have at least five glasses of water a day, as drinking still water with every meal is part of the weight loss plan.
Chia seeds, nuts and olive oil should also be added to the three meals of the day and a snack before bed, such as a boiled egg or a slice of turkey, is also recommended.
Healthline shared what a typical Perricone menu includes:
Breakfast
Smoked salmon
Slow-cooked oatmeal
Teaspoon of almonds
Green tea or still water
Lunch
Grilled turkey burger with lettuce and one slice of tomato
Three-bean salad (chickpeas, kidney beans, and black beans dressed with olive oil, fresh lemon juice, and a minced clove of garlic) served on a bed of cabbage leaves
Still water
Afternoon snack
Unsweetened Greek yoghurt
Still water

Lentil soup
Spiced diver scallops

A choice of the following:
One hard-boiled egg

Still water
A slice of turkey breast
Plain Greek yoghurt
One apple
A handful of walnuts, hazelnuts, or almonds
“You’re encouraged to drink green tea instead of coffee to prevent caffeine withdrawal since green tea is lower in caffeine than your regular cup of joe,” the health site added.
Queen Letizia reportedly consumes sweetener instead of sugar. During a visit to an ice cream shop in Benidorm in 2020, King Felipe explained: “At home, we use erythritol a lot because we don’t have sugar.”
Besides following the healthy diet, it is believed the Spanish Queen has a personal trainer at the Zarzuela Palace, where the Royal Family lives.
The Queen reportedly practices strength and weight exercises, Pilates and yoga on a weekly basis to stay in shape.
