Paddy McGuinness, 47, is an English comedian, actor, and TV presenter, well-known for presenting ITV’s famous dating programme Take Me Out for ten years. Since its launch last year, he has hosted BBC’s Catchpoint, a new game show which combines general knowledge with physical activity.
But Paddy has also made headlines in recent years for becoming a healthier version of himself, losing two stones in only four months.
In 2019, Paddy revealed that he’d dropped from 14 stone to 12.5 stone.
However, feeling good both physically and mentally is important to the presenter and therefore, when this new weight left him feeling too thin, he put one stone and a half back on.
He therefore now weighs just under 14 stone but has a 33-inch waist, whereas he started off with a 36-inch waist.

Talking about the physical training he did to lose so much weight in the first place, Paddy said in an Instagram post at the time: “I really enjoyed it and definitely could have got leaner but I began to feel a bit too thin.”
“I still enjoy training but I don’t fancy stripping that much fat again,” Paddy added.
To maintain his goal weight, Paddy enjoys doing physical exercise and eating healthily.
Sometimes, it is easier to lose weight than it is to maintain it, therefore it is essential that people who have lost weight continue with the habits that they picked up at the beginning of – or during – their journey.

This happened to Paddy as he gained several pounds over lockdown last year, before throwing himself back into an exercise and diet regime to reach his ideal weight once again.
The TV personality lost seven pounds by going for bike rides every day and watching what he ate, such as cutting cake from his diet.
Taking to social media to share the good news, he said on Twitter: “5 days later, 7lbs lighter. Couple of short bike rides and no cake, happy with that.”
Paddy celebrated his weight loss a few hours later by eating a cake from Marks & Spencer with custard, demonstrating that even when trying to lose weight it’s still okay to treat yourself from time to time.
If you, like Paddy, want to try out cycling to lose weight, there are a few things worth remembering.
The faster you cycle, the more calories you’ll burn, according to Healthline.
Steady, moderate cycling burns around 300 calories in 60 minutes, and a person weighing 155 pounds can burn as many as 298 calories in 30 minutes if they pedal at a speed of 12 to 14 miles per hour.
Opting for high intensity interval training can also help to reduce body fat, such as cycling as fast as you can against a high resistance for 30 to 60 seconds, before doing two to three minutes of easy cycling with a low resistance, and then repeating that pattern for another 20 to 30 minutes.
On the days that you are cycling, it is important to properly fuel your body – British Cycling recommends a breakfast full of carbohydrates, such as a big bowl of porridge.
However, if your cycle isn’t until later in the afternoon – or if you are not cycling at all that day – something lighter with fewer calories, such as yoghurt with fruit, would be more appropriate.
Paddy is a fan of cereal and recently tweeted his five favourite kinds of cereal which, he says, taste better in the evening than in the morning.
“I’ll gladly listen to all arguments apart from 1st place. Nothing’s beating the Crunchy Nutters!!!” he wrote.
