Dr Clare Bailey is a GP and recipe author, married to Dr. Michael Mosley, the creator of the 5:2 diet and The Fast 800 Diet.
Clare detailed her basic steps to build a healthy salad for lunch.
It came after she suggested a keto diet recipe made with eggs to “keep you going”.
Steps to build a healthy salad
- Start with greens such as spinach or kale
- Add protein
- Include healthy fats
- Add some more vegetables
- Add dome extra flavour e.g. extra virgin olive oil or lemon juice
The health expert told her followers: “Eat enough protein. This is because we can’t store protein and have to get most of it in our diet.
“Inadequate levels will leave you feeling hungrier and its important for your body to function effectively.
“This salad is one you can assemble yourself and be creative with tastes, textures and flavours – and don’t forget to add a substantial amount of protein.”
She went on: “Aim to eat at least 50g and ideally 80-to 100g. Many people are not eating enough.”

Dr. Clare’s followers suggested their favourite proteins to add to the salad.
One wrote: “My favourite proteins to add to a salad are hard-boiled eggs and feta cheese.”
Another said: “Not eating enough protein is a sure-fire way for my eating to go off the rails.
“I often base my lunch around eggs, fish or any leftovers from the night before.”

A fitness guru detailed the best healthy snacks for weight loss, and how to “feed that chocolate craving”.
Diets and fitness guru Carly Rowena has some creative suggestions for snacks.
She said: “Think about the things that you love.
“If you really want to have like a brownie think, how could I have a brownie in a healthier way that’d be like?
“Maybe I can have a hot chocolate, which is going to feed that chocolate craving.”
