A health and fitness expert has spoken exclusively to Express.co.uk about how Kate Middleton keeps her figure so perfect and what other women, especially mothers, can do to achieve their best selves. Her fashion and style often make headlines around the world, but her sensational figure, despite being a busy mother-of-three, has never faltered.
Sarah Campus, the founder of LDN MUMS FITNESS, an organisation which according to her website, “provides nutrition, exercise, and lifestyle training in London when it suits you and your family.”
Sarah spoke about the workouts and diets the Duchess of Cambridge likely follows to maintain her incredible figure.
She said: “Being a busy mum I would suggest that the Duchess is likely to follow a very simple nutrition plan, consisting of a smoothie for breakfast, followed by some protein and vegetables with carbohydrates for lunch, and similar for dinner.
“Smoothie will be a combination of kale, spirulina, matcha, spinach, lettuce, parsley and blueberries together for a healthy morning drink.
“Lunch could be sushi, salads, soup. In terms of snacking she will enjoy trail mix with goji berries, fresh fruit and nut butters with rice cakes.
“Then in terms of exercise and a woman whose time is precious like most of us, I would suggest she does short and effective HIIT workouts of no more than 20-30 minutes balancing it with strength, cardio, swimming and yoga session.”
Sarah offered advice to Express.co.uk about what should royal fans do to emulate Kate Middleton’s healthy lifestyle.
She said: “Have three wholesome meals a day with healthy snacking in-between. Meals should consist of protein, carbohydrates, vegetables. Looking at your plate you should see colour.
“Steer away from the processed foods and aim for prepping your own meals by batch cooking.
“Keep in the back of your mind that you are what you eat, so when making smoothies think about adding in boosters such as matcha, chia seeds, flax seeds, ashwaganda, goji berries.
“When preparing meals try to reduce adding salt, and look a steaming your protein and vegetables as it will retain more of the nutrients.”
Sarah continued: “Nutrition should be colourful and balanced without restrictions.
“Eat at least five portions of a variety of fruit and vegetables every day, and you should base meals on higher fibre starchy foods like potatoes, wholegrain bread or brown rice.
“Have some dairy or dairy alternatives (such as soya drinks) eat beans, pulses, fish, eggs, meat and other proteins.
“Cut down on saturated fat and sugar, and eat less salt, no more than 6g a day for adults.
“In terms of hydration aim for 2.5 litres of water per day. It is thought that Kate enjoys a diet that is full of whole foods, high proteins, vitamins and nutrients.
“She follows a diet that is rich in antioxidants to keep her active throughout the day.”
Sarah offered her expertise on what it is that enables the Duchess of Cambridge to be so talented at sports.
She said: “It seems that Kate Middleton has always been an athlete. From her days on the St Andrew’s school field hockey team to expertly racing boats with Prince William, Kate makes any sport look easy.
“Kate also played some ping pong, teaming up against her husband, Prince William.
“It will be her consistency and commitment to staying active and eating well, maintaining a good level of fitness and a willingness to try new things that enable Kate to be as talented at sports as she appears.”
