This Brewery Made a Beer That Tastes Like Dole Whip—and We Can't Wait to Try It
Unless you’re an NBA player ensconced within the so-called “bubble” at Disney World, it may not be the wisest idea to visit a Disney Park right now. That decision is obviously up to you, but there are plenty of cautious folks out there right now with both a serious case of Disney FOMO and a powerful thirst for a good beer.
While the chance to recreate some of Disney Parks’ famous recipes at home has been a real lifeline during the quarantine (including their Dole Whip recipe), sometimes you’d rather just skip the cooking or baking and kick back with a cold one. Thankfully, a Gainesville, Florida brewery has decided to take care of that for you.
I’m talking, of course, about Dole Whip Sour from First Magnitude Brewing.
🍦🍍𝓓𝓞𝓛𝓔 𝓦𝓗𝓘𝓟 𝓢𝓞𝓤𝓡🍍🍦 Today at 2PM we're releasing the latest in our flavors of summer series of sours. Brewed using *actual Dole Whip* mix, pineapple puree, and milk sugar, this beer tastes just like the iconic pineapple soft serve served at Disney. This beer is a creamy, dreamy sour that isn't too sweet or tart, it's just the right balance and is packed with pineapple goodness! The best part is, you can pick-up right here in Gainesville, you don't need to travel to Orlando! Place your order at bit.ly/FMorder (link in bio) and then pick up in our safe, clean, and fun brewery drive-thru.

Billed as First Magnitude’s latest summer sour release, the Dole Whip Sour aims to be a faithful and flavorful recreation of the famous Disney Treat—with the added bonus of six percent ABV. That means it’s made with pineapple puree, milk sugar, and, yes, real Dole Whip mix. The end result is a brew described as a “creamy, dreamy sour that isn't too sweet or tart” that’s nonetheless “packed with pineapple goodness.”
As with most noteworthy limited-run beers from small breweries like this, it would appear that First Magnitude has already sold out its current supply of Dole Whip Sour to thirsty Disney fans in the Gainesville area. Though the brewery said on Instagram that they don’t have any current plans to keep brewing it, the beer “will likely be back sometime in the future.” Could be worse!
Until then, spike your homemade Dole Whip, wear a mask in public, and maybe someday Disney will even carry this stuff themselves. Now that would be truly magical.
