Organic Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups Are Coming To Stores This Year
Hearing about new iterations of classic snacks is where most of my happiness comes from these days. There’s something so special about knowing our favorite treats are still being reimagined in new ways! Hershey’s, for example, is working on releasing organic Reese’s cups this year and to say we’re excited is an understatement.
You may assume that candy and the word “organic” don’t really go hand in hand, but to be properly labeled as an organic food, it must use at least 95 percent organically produced ingredients. It doesn’t mean that the flavor of the chocolate and peanut butter candy you already know and love will be altered at all, just that you’re getting the best ingredients possible.
In a press announcement, chairman, president, and chief executive officer of Hershey Company, Michele Gross Buck, said that the brand has big plans to continue offering sugar-free and organic versions of their classic products.
“Our sugar-free platform has been performing well and we believe this will enable us to reach more households and provide consumers with more great tasting ways to enjoy their favorite Hershey brands,” she said. “And while the organic chocolate market is small, it is growing rapidly, and we are excited to bring consumers great tasting organic versions of Reese’s and Hershey’s through this targeted launch.”
Sites like Instacart already have listings for the organic Reese’s cups on their platforms, but it seems the candy isn’t available in stores quite yet. Here’s hoping this spring will bring warmer weather and new organic Reese’s.
