Cracker Barrel's New Items Are Exactly What We Want This Fall
For a variety of reasons, there’s probably a pretty good chance you haven’t been to a Cracker Barrel in a while. It makes sense: most of them feel like they’re near highways, and it seems like the whole “indoor dining” thing is fairly crucial to the experience.
But as some parts of the country are able to return to (heavily modified) indoor dining and as a faint chill hits the air, there’s nothing better than a bit of fall comfort food. Thankfully, Cracker Barrel provideth.
This week, they announced new additions to the menu for autumn, including a mix of classic comfort foods and trendier items fit for the moment. Chief among them is a chicken pot pie, made with slow-simmered chicken, peas, potatoes, carrots, celery, and onions mixed with a creamy sauce and tucked snugly within a warm, flaky crust.

While that’s the homestyle classic topping things off, there are plenty of other (mostly sweet) eats to get in the mood for festive gourd season. Other autumnal options include a carrot cake baked with coconut, pineapple, walnuts, cinnamon, and vanilla, smothered in a cream cheese icing topped with pecans. Because pumpkin spice season knows no bounds, there’s also a pumpkin pie latte featuring pumpkin pie flavors, plus whipped cream, pumpkin spice, and a vanilla thin stick.
Since Cracker Barrel’s particular brand of southern cuisine is all about family, they’re also revamping the kid’s menu, too. Options like lil’ Barrel cheeseburgers, mini confetti pancakes, and a straw made out of milk and cookies. That latter item will probably inspire a few adults to ask about Cracker Barrel’s kid’s menu policy.
All of the aforementioned autumnal innovations are available from Cracker Barrel now through October 11. That cutoff date feels like a pretty early point in time to end a fall promotion, but I’m not the one in charge of their menu. So if you’re a serious chicken pot pie fan, get moving.
