Trader Joe's Just Debuted Hard Lemonade in a Can

Summer is (almost) officially here and we are SO ready to sip cocktails poolside. Of course, all these new canned drinks are going to make that much easier.

Trader Joe’s latest addition to its Campanology line, Lemon Peal, is basically made for hot summer days. And, no, the name is not misspelled.

“A peal—not to be confused with a peel—refers to ‘a loud ringing of a bell,’ and this hard lemonade is sure to ring yours,” warns the product description.

Naturally, we had to try the citrusy new beverage. While it wasn’t everyone’s cup of tea—there’s definitely an intense lemon flavor there—none of us hated it.

“Not a fan,” said one tester. “I’d rather just drink regular lemonade or hard seltzer.”

Others were more complimentary: “This is a crisp, refreshing summer beverage that I’d want to drink by the pool,” said one fan of the drink.

“The taste is good—not overly tart or sweet,” said another.

While we couldn’t agree on flavor, we all loved the packaging’s bright retro design.
