Greggs often changes and updates its food and drinks menu to keep up with customer demand. Its vegan sausage roll, launched in 2019, has become immensely popular with meat eaters and vegetarians alike. Following its release, the British favourite has introduced more plant-based products to its range.

In July this year, Greggs launched a second vegan product to its menu.

The Vegan Ham and Cheeze baguette is made from Quorn ham and cheddar “cheeze” slices.

Costing £2.95, it is the perfect lunchtime treat.

Now, to celebrate the beginning of autumn, the fast-food chain has introduced other plant-based products to its shelves.

The bacon and sausage breakfast rolls are both vegan and a great alternative to Greggs’ meat versions.

The company’s first vegan breakfast roll features two Quorn sausages packed into a pillow-soft, corn top roll, freshly prepared in stores every morning.

Meanwhile, the vegan bacon roll includes the same bread with plant-based bacon.

Other savoury treats on the new menu are a roast chicken and stuffing baguette, packs of two hash browns, and a spicy chicken and red pepper soup.

As for dessert, there is a new sticky toffee muffin on offer.

To get into the autumn spirit, Greggs has also launched a new pumpkin spice latte.

Customers can add the new hash browns to a breakfast deal for only 50p or buy on their own for a £1.

They are made from shredded potatoes, seasoned and fried until crisp and brown.

The new sticky toffee muffin includes caramel flavour fudge pieces with a gooey toffee sauce at its centre.

But stealing the show is the vegan bacon roll, which Greggs fans have already been praising on Twitter.

Twitter user Ste_Bergin reached out to Greggs, saying: “I’ve gotta hand it to you, I just tried the new vegan bacon and it’s good! For £1.90, I’d much rather spend the extra 10p on two sausage rolls, but otherwise it was a really nice change. Thanks for supporting the vegan community, we’ll continue to support you.”

Another user, BramblePatchBun, tweeted: “Just found out Greggs do vegan bacon rolls now, which means quick pre-long train journey breakfasts are back on again!”

One person, under the Twitter name yeksulccmj, said: “Greggs vegan sausage and bacon roll absolutely slaps.”

However, some Greggs customers were not as impressed with the new vegan options.

Twitter user LegitimateDog wrote: “Greggs Vegan Bacon! Looks like a dog treat!”

Ben Mitchell tweeted: “Rancid, looks like something from a Tesco 99p bag of sweets.”

Josh, under the Twitter handle Travel_scottish, added: “Disgusting.”
